AN ACT to change the name of the town of Savannah, in the county of Warren.

Name of town changed.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the name of the town of Savannah, in the county of Warren, be, and the same is hereby, changed to that of Cold-Brook. This act to take effect from and after its passage.

1Peter Butler presented a petition of citizens of Warren County to the Senate on January 15, 1839, requesting the name of Savannah be changed to Cold Brook. John D. Wood introduced SB 82 on January 16. The Senate passed the bill on January 25. The House of Representatives passed the bill on February 9, adding the final clause to the title. The Senate concurred with the title change on February 12. The Council of Revision approved the bill on February 15 and the act became law.
