Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the People of the state of Illinois represented in the General Assembly That there shall be established a State Road from Mountsterling in Brown County to Lagrange, and from thence to Arnez[]s mill in Morgan County and the Roads, now traveled from Anez’s mill to Princeton, and from Princeton to Springfield are hereby declared State Roads.
Sec 2 Joseph Kirchee[,] Wm A Henman[,] and T. T. Rigby are hereby appointed commissioner to locate the Road from Mountsterling (via) Lagran[ge] to Arenz,[s] mills, and they are required to meet [at?] some place and time to be agreed on by them, on or before the first day of August next, and upon [being?] sworn to discharge the duties required of the[m] by this act, proceed to the location of the Road a[fore]said upon the ground which will best accommodate [the] public interest and mark the route so that the sa[me] can be traced by the supervisor, and upon the Location t[here] of they shall make a Report to the County Commissioners [Cou]rts1 of the counties, through which the Road passes, whic[h] being entered on Record the Road thus located shall be o[p]ened and shall from thenceforth be a State Road, any two of the Commissioners may execute this act, and they shall be paid two dollars per day for their services out of the county treasury,s in proportion to the time employed in each county.
