AN ACT to repeal part of the act, entitled “An act to incorporate the Kaskaskia Bridge Company.”
1Part of act repealed.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That so much of the fourth section of an act, entitled “An act to incorporate the
Kaskaskia Bridge Company,” approved January 31, 1837, as graduates the votes in a certain proportion to the
number of

shares, be, and the same is hereby, repealed, and that each share-holder shall be entitled to as many votes as the number
of shares he or she shall hold in said company.
Part of 15th section of said act repealed.
Sec. 2. That so much of the fifteenth section of the act aforesaid as provides for the
vesting of the right and title to said bridge in the people of this State, upon paying to said company all their expenditures, with interest thereon, &c.[etc], be, and the same is hereby, repealed. This act to be in force from and after its passage.

1Edmund Menard presented a petition of the Kaskaskia Bridge Company to the House of Representatives on December 10, 1838, and the House referred it to a select committee. On December
11, Menard reported back for the committee and introduced HB 11. The House passed
the bill on January 1, 1839. The Senate passed the bill on January 21. The Council of Revision approved the bill on January 24, 1839.
