Whereas by an act of the General Assembly approved March the second, 1837, appointing Commissioners to locate a State road from Ellisville to McComb; and whereas said Commissioners met as provided in the above recited act and located said road from Ellisville to the county line dividing the counties of McDonough and Fulton, and proceeded no further with said location, therefore

Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, that Durham Creel, Caleb C. Overton[,] and William McCondless, be, and they are hereby appointed Commissioners to continue the location of said [road], and said Commissioners shall meet at [the] county line where the above [stated] road strikes the same, at any time within six months after the passage of this act, and after being duly Sworn by some justice of the Peace, shall proceed to view, mark, survey[,] and locate so much of said road as lies in McDonough county on the most eligible route to the town of McComb, doing as little injury to private property as public good will permit; and shall at the first term of the county Commissioners Court of McDonough county [after?] said location is made, file with said Court a plat of said road, and it shall be the duty of said Court to order said road to be opened and kept in repair as other State roads are, and shall allow said Commissioners and all others employed in the location of said road a reasonable compensation for their services.
