Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, Represented in the General Assembly, That Benjamin W. Pope and William Gasoway, be, and they are hereby authorized to raise and continue a mill dam across Big Mudy on section number twenty, township number seven range number two east of the third principal meridian in the county of Franklin to the height of ten feet. Provided, the said Benjamin W. Pope and William Gasoway own the land on which the same is to be raised: And provided, that the raising of said dam does not interfere with any mill dam formerly built across said river.
