Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly That Jehiel Day of Lee County[,] Samuel Partrick of Ogle County[,] and David S. Haight of Winnebago County, be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners to view, survey[,] mark, and locate a State Road commencing at Dixon in Lee County thence North on the East side of Rock River, via Daysville, Claremont, Kishwaukee[,] Rockford, Roscoe to Beloit, in Wisconsin Territory
Sec 2 That said Commissioners or a majority of them shall meet at Dixon in Lee County on the first day of June next, or within three months thereafter and after being
sworn by some Justice of the Peace of said County faithfully and impartially to perform the duties required of them by this Act, shall
proceed to view[,] mark[,] survey, and locate said Road from point to point as directed in the first section
of this act, upon the nearest and best route, having due regard to private property,
and make out and return to the County Commissioners Courts of the several Counties through which said Road passes a Certified Report of said
Road together with a map of the same which said

Report and Map shall be filed in the Clerks office of the County Commissioners Court of the several Counties through which said Road shall pass.
Sec. 3rd The said Commissioners shall be allowed the sum of Two Dollars per day for every
^day^ necessarily employed in viewing[,] surveying[,] and locating said Road together with a reasonable allowance for such necessary hands
as they may employ to be allowed by the Commissioners Courts of the several Counties in proportion to the length of said ^Road^ in each of the said Counties respectively, and paid out of the Treasury of said Counties.
This act to be in force from and after its passage.

the bill. On January 31, the House of Representatives amended the bill. On February 1, the House further amended and passed the bill.
