To the Honorable the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States or the
Postmaster General
The Petition of the undersigned Citizens of the township of Le Roy in the County of
Calhoun and State of Michigan Respectfully Showeth that the public welfare requires
a mail-route from Battlecreek in the Co. of Calhoun to Schoolcraft in the Co. of Kalamazoo
running from Battlecreek to the Steam Mill on Sec. 8 in Le Roy thence by the most
direct route to the center of Sec. 8 in the town of Athens thence West through near
the center of Wakeshma and Brady to Schoolcraft in Kalamazoo Co.
And they Pray you to establish the above route and an office in Le Roy by the name
of Le Roy and that you appoint over said office Truman S. Cole whose honesty Industry
and buisness habits render him well Qualified to discharge the duties Pertaining to
Said office
