STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE.
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened, That so much of the act of the second session of the 29th Congress of the United States, entitled “An act to establish certain post routes and for other purposes,” as enlarges the franking privilege of members of Congress, increases the postage on newspapers not sent from the office of publication, on circulars, was not demanded by the public sentiment or the public interest, but is clearly in derogation of both, and ought to be repealed.
Resolved, That the Senators and Representatives from this State in the Congress of the United States, be respectfully requested to urge in that body, at an early day of the next session, a repeal of so much of the act referred to as is specified in the foregoing resolution.
Resolved, That His Excellency the Governor be requested to furnish copies of the foregoing resolutions to our Senators and Representatives in Congress of the United States.
MOSES NORRIS, Jr.,
