Yours of the 13th instant is at hand.
By the 29th chapter of the post office Regulations, predicated upon the 26th Section of the act of 1825, and the 18th section of the act of 1845. Postmasters are required to select a paper on the 1st of July in each year, to publish the list of uncalled for letters for the ensuing year.
From the evidence submitted by Mr. McKibben, the Department is satisfied, that the paper selected by him should retain and continue to publish the list of uncalled for letters, until the first of July next. It will then be his duty to receive evidence to enable him to determine as to the paper having the largest circulation within the usual delivery of his

office. A portion of this information can only be obtained from the published books and he should be permitted to examine them before making a selection.
