April 7, 1840. Present—P. C. Canedy, J. Whitney, P. C. Latham, J. Kleine.
On examining the poll books, it appeared that P. C. Canedy[,] J. Kleine, J. Whitney, P. C. Latham, and A Lincoln, were elected Trustees by a majority of the votes polled.
The persons thus elected Trustees, with the exception of Mr. Lincoln, were duly sworn to perform their duties as Trustee by Wm. Lavally, Esq[Esquire].
On motion, P. C. Canedy was chosen President of the Board.
On motion Simeon Francis was chosen Clerk of the Board, and sworn into office by Wm. Lavally, Esq.
Leave was granted to bring in a bill to define the residence of voters. Said bill was read three times and passed.
