A year after creating Kane County, the Illinois General Assembly placed the Kane County Circuit Court in the Seventh Judicial Circuit. In 1839, they moved it to the Ninth Circuit; in 1851, they placed it in the Thirteenth Circuit; and in 1861, they moved it to the Twenty-Eighth Circuit.
