Monmouth Republican Glee Club

The Monmouth Republican Glee Club was active during the election campaign of 1858. It existed within a tradition of political glee clubs in Warren County, where a Young Men’s Scott Glee Club performed Whig Party songs in Monmouth during the election of 1852, and a Fremont Glee Club was active in the county in support of presidential candidate John C. Fremont during the election of 1856. Monmouth was also home to a musical group referred to as the Monmouth Republican Glee Club in 1884.
