Campbell, Barzilla

Barzilla Campbell, a farmer, served as a founding trustee of the DeWitt County Agricultural Society in 1855. He was also sheriff of the county from 1860 to 1862. In August 1862, Campbell joined the 107th Illinois Infantry of the Union Army and served as a quartermaster until he resigned in December 1863.
Campbell married Rosanna Sacket in March 1847 in Sangamon County, Illinois, and the couple had four children in 1860. At that time, Campbell had $2,000 in real estate and $1,000 in personal estate value.
