Clark, John
Flourished: 1846-01-13 Franklin County, Ohio
In 1846, John Clark was a resident of Franklin County, Ohio, when Rachel Hoxworth and John Hoxworth, gave him $1,400 in promissory notes secured by a mortgage to a 240-acre parcel of land. After the Hoxworths conveyed this same piece of land to Hiram H. Catlett and Herald Catlett and failed to repay Clark, Clark retained Abraham Lincoln and Ward H. Lamon to sue the Hoxworths and the Catletts.
