Lynn M. Greene, a farmer, married Nancy O. Abell in September 1840, and the couple had at least six children. In 1848, he moved to Mason County, Illinois with his brother, William G. Greene, but sold his share of the land in 1852 and moved to McDonough County. In 1860, Greene was living in Menard County and owned real property valued at $25,000 and had a personal estate of $2,000. He settled in Warren County in 1864.
