In 1824, Graham married Lusinda Chilsom in Gallatin County, and they settled there. From 1831 to 1836, he purchased 330 acres of land in Gallatin County. Graham represented the county in the Illinois House of Representatives from the opening of the session on December 5, 1836, until his death on December 27, 1836.
