Little, Sidney H.

Little settled in Carthage, Illinois, in 1834 or 1835, and practiced law. In 1836 and 1837, Little purchased more than 300 acres of federal land in Hancock County, Illinois. In 1837, voters elected him as county clerk for Hancock County. Little served as a Whig member of the Illinois Senate, representing McDonough and Hancock counties from 1838 to his death. In the Senate, he aided the Mormons in obtaining charters from the state. In 1840, Little lived in Hancock County with five other persons in his household. He died from injuries in being thrown from his wagon.
