McJenkins, Hugh

Flourished: 1832 Tazewell County, Illinois

From April to June of 1832, McJenkins served in two different companies of mounted volunteer militia in the Black Hawk War. In one of those, he served alongside Abraham Lincoln. In June, McJenkins re-enrolled in another of Lincoln's companies, but he was listed absent without leave.
