Procter, Daniel

Procter purchased federal land in McLean County, Illinois, in 1837 and he lived there soon afterward. In 1849, he married Mary Jane Story, and they settled in Mount Hope. Procter practiced as a physician in McLean County until around 1858, when he moved to Caldwell County, Missouri. In Missouri, Procter worked as a farmer. Politically, he was a Whig and later a Republican.
