Robinson, Barton

Robinson earned his medical degree in London and in 1831, he emigrated to the United States where he settled in Sangamon County, Illinois. He married Mahala Barber in 1833 and soon began purchasing land in present-day southern Logan County. The Robinsons moved to Logan County in 1836, where Barton laid out the town of Mt. Pulaski and practiced medicine. In 1850, Robinson lived with his family in Mt. Pulaski, where he was employed as a physician and owned $10,000 worth of real estate. In 1858, he relocated his family to Kansas.
