Roberts, Daniel P.

Daniel P. Roberts was a lawyer and federal employee. In 1850 he worked as a lawyer in Randolph County, Illinois and owned $400 in real estate. He served as register for the U.S. General Land Office in Kaskaskia, Illinois from 1853 until the office was moved to Springfield. He married Louisiana Fisher in Randolph County in January 1853. They had at least two children together. For a time, he and Edward C. Morse were partners together in the firm, Roberts & Morse. By 1860, he was still working as a lawyer in Randolph County and owned $30,000 in real estate and another $400 in personal property.
