Short, Joshua

Died: 1841-02-09 Menard County, Illinois

Short served in the Revolutionary War as a private in the 6th Virginia Regiment. He and his wife Luella Faris had nine children. Sometime in the 1820s, Joshua moved his family from Virginia to Green County, Kentucky, where he likely married his second wife Parthena Jones. In the late 1820s, the family moved to Sangamon County, Illinois, where they settled and farmed on Spring Creek, six miles west of Springfield.
