Webb, William

Webb, a native of Virginia, moved to Tennessee where he married Jane Hillis. Their union produced ten children. In the fall of 1830, Webb moved his family to Illinois in an area that would later become Petersburg, Illinois. In 1835, Webb moved to Spring Creek, eight miles west of Springfield. By 1844, Webb was in Keokuk, Iowa, and died there. He was the father of William Webb Jr.
