Wheeler, Alanson K.

Alanson K. Wheeler was a farmer, state representative, and Republican. In March 1821, he married Sally Whitlock, with whom he had at least five children before they relocated to Illinois in 1846. In 1850, he was farming in Kendall County, Illinois and owned $5,500 in real estate. In the election of 1854, Kendall County's voters elected him to the Illinois House of Representatives. In 1858, he served as a delegate to the Republican state convention in Springfield. By 1860, he owned over $10,000 in real estate and another $2,300 in personal property.
