Know all men by these Presents that we James Adams, William Carpenter[,] David Prickett, Norman & C. B. Francis, John F. Rague[,] George Miller[,] E. D. Baker, Josephus Hewitt[,] Simeon Francis[,] Ninian Edwards[,] Samuel Morris & Gershom Jayne Proprietors of the Town of Huron, Situate on the Sangamon River County & State aforesaid do hereby acknowledge the same as designated[,] Plated[,] Numbered & laid out & exhibited by the within map or Platt as our voluntary act & Deed for the Purpose of a Town with the Lots[,] Blocks, streets and Allys, with their respective dimensions and the Publick Square in the Same and hereby quit claim all exclusive Right in & to the Streets[,] Allys & Publick Square to the use of the Publick. In Testimony whereof we have hereunto Set our hands & Seals this 6th day of July 1836.

Be it Remembered that on the day of the date hereof came personally before the undersigned a Justice of the Peace in & for Said County James Adams[,] William Carpenter[,] David Prickett, Norman & C. B. Francis[,] John F. Rague[,] George Miller, E. D. Baker, Josephus Hewitt, Simeon Francis[,] Ninian Edwards[,] Samuel Morris & Gershom Jayne, Proprietors of the Town of Huron, & known by said Justice to be the Same Persons whose names are Subscribed to the foregoin D. E E D. of Recognition of said Town & who then Severally acknowledged that they executed the Same together with Said Platt & Specification of Said Town as by the within exhibit is expressed.
