Sec[Section] 1st Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly: That the Town of Lower Alton in the County of Madison, as defined by the Corporate boundaries thereof, be and the same is hereby constituted a district for the election of two Justices of the peace and two Constables.
Sec 2nd The County Commissioners Court of said County of Madison, are hereby authorized and required to cause an election to be held on the first Monday in August next, and at each quadrennial election for Justices of the peace and Constables, thereafter, for two Justices of the peace and two Constables in said district; and the officers so elected shall have, and exercise the same jurisdiction, hold their respective offices by the same tenure, and be under the same regulations in all respects, as other Justices of the peace and Constables of this State.

Sec [3rd?] The County Commissioners’ Court of Greene County are hereby authorized to cause a special election to be held at white Hall, for one Justice of the peace and one Constable, on the fifteenth day of March next, to be conducted according to the provisions of “An act to provide for the election of Justices of the peace and Constables” and the said Justice of the peace and Constable when so elected shall hold their office until the next General Election, to be held by the provisions of the above recited act. The North half of section two, in township eleven North, Range 12 West, and the South half of section thirty five, in Township 12 North and Range 12 West shall constitute a District for the election for one Justice of the peace, and one Constable, until the boundaries of the same shall be changed by the County Commissioners Court of said County.
