AN ACT declaring the road from Mount Vernon to Fairfield a State Road.

Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the road as now laid out from Mount Vernon in Jefferson county, by way of E. Maulding’s mill, to Fairfield in Wayne county, be, and the same is hereby declared a State road.
This act to take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

1On January 16, 1835, Stinson H. Anderson in the House of Representatives presented the petition of sundry citizens of Jefferson County concerning a certain state road therein named. The House referred the petition to a select committee. From the select committee, Anderson then introduced HB 180 in the House on January 29, 1835. The House passed the bill on February 6. The Senate concurred on February 9. On February 12, the Council of Revision approved the bill and the act became law.
