An act to locate a State road therein named
Sec[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois represented in the General assembly that, Jesse Neace, John McChord[,] and Thomas R. Hays of the County of McDonough, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners to view[,] Survey[,] and locate permanently locate a State Road in the county of McDonough, Commencing at a bridge across Troublesome Creek at a point where the State road from Rushville to the Des Moines Rapids crosses said creek, running thence the nearest and most practicable rout to Bacon[’]s Mill, and from thence the to intersect a proposed State road leading from Macomb to Burlington, in a direction to said Burlington, having in view the most advantageous location for said road, and doing as little
injury to private property as the public good will permit.
Sec 2. Said commissioners or a majority of them so soon as the said proposed State road
in the first section of this act mentioned shall have been surveyed and located, or
within thirty days thereafter, shall meet at the said Bridge, and being first duly
sworn before Some justice of the peace, faithfully to discharge the duties required
of them by this act, shall proceed to to view[,] ^survey^[,] mark[,] and locate said road; and as soon as practicable thereafter, cause to be made a map
of the survey of said road certified by them, and deliver a copy thereof to the ^clerk of the

Commissioners Court, who shall file the Same in his office, and the said road thus laid out shall be
and is hereby declared a State road, and shall be opened and kept in repair as other
state roads are.
Sec 3. Said Commissioners shall receive for ^Compensation^ their Services a reasonable Compensation to be paid out of the county treasury of
