Sec.[Section] 1.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois Represented in the General Assembly, That so much of the State Road as lies between the Town of Meredocia in Morgan County and Quincy in Adams County as viewed and located under an act ^entitled an act^ To locate a State Road from Jacksonville in Morgan County to Quincy in Adams County and for other purposes therein mentioned” be and the same is hereby Vacated.
Sec. 2.
That Henry Casteen and Harvey Luster^& John Taylor, ^ of Schuyler County and David Bush of Adams be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners to view survey mark and locate a Road from Meredocia in Morgan County, through Mountsterling in Schuyler to Quincy in Adams County, said Commissioners shall meet, at Meredocia on the first monday of April or within Twenty Days thereafter and after being sworn by some Justice of the Peace faithfully to discharge their duties enjoined by this act shall proceed to view mark with stakes in the Prairie and by blaces in the Timber and locate said Road on the nearest and most eligible ground, avoiding as much as possible injury to private property
Sec. 3.
The said Commissioners ^shall^ as soon thereafter as convenient cause to be filed with the Clerks of the County Commissioners Courts of the several Counties through which said Road may pass a true a true Map or survey of said Road as located by them

and it is hereby made the duty of said Clerks to file the same in their respective Offices.
Sec. 4.
Said Road when located as aforesaid shall be deemed a State Road the kept in repair as other State Roads are, and the County Commissioners Courts, of the several Counties through which said Road may run shall allow said Commissioners a reasonable compensation, for their services, in performing the duties requested by this act, to be paid out of the County Treasury.

1John T. Stuart introduced this bill in the House of Representatives on December 17, 1834. On December 18, the House referred it to a select committee. On January 20, 1835, the select committee reported back the bill without amendment, recommending its rejection. The House concurred and declined to read the bill a third time.
