An act supplemental to an act entitled “an act to amend an act for the limitation
of actions and for avoiding vexatious law suits.”
Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represened in the General Assembly, That the provisions of the act entitled “an act to amend” an act for the limitation
of actions and for avoiding vexatious law suits,” approved tenth of February, one
thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven, which was approved on the seventeenth day
of January, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-five, shall be construed to embrace
the cases of all bona fide possessors, their heirs and assigns, claiming the premises possessed under color of
title; without notice of the title of the person having right of entry or cause of
action, and the time within which the entry may be made, or the action commenced,
as against possessors as aforesaid, shall be limited by the act aforesaid; and the
kind of possession referred to in said act, shall be construed to include and mean
an enclosure and cultivation from year to year, and the payment of State and county
taxes for seven successive years.
Sec 2 Rights of entry and of action in regard to vacant and unoccupied lands, on which
persons having such rights have failed to pay State and county taxes for seven successive
years, shall be limited by the provisions of the act to which this is a supplement,
as against persons claiming the same under color of title, and paying State and county
taxes for seven years in succession.

Sec 3 The third proviso to the second section of the act to which this is a supplement,
shall apply to the provisions of this act.
