Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the “President, and directors of the Rushville Railroad Company,” be, and they are, hereby authorized and empowered to change the construction of the whole or any part of the road mentioned in the act to which this is a supplement, provided they may deem it expedient so to do, so as to construct and make it a clay or McCadamised[Macadamized] turnpike road, suitable to common transportation in all wagons, and carts and every kind of wheeled carriages, and for all ordinary traveling and business.
Sec 2 That the said “President and directors,” be, and they are, hereby empowered to extend the said road, either by rail way or by a Clay or McCadamised Turnpike road, from the Illinois river to Virginia in Cass county, and for which purpose they shall be, and they are, hereby vested with all the powers and privileges conferred upon them in the original act, to which this is a supplement, subject also, to the several restrictions contained in the same act.
