Sec [Section]1 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly, That William Burke, and James Browning of Adams County, and Lewis [Gerry?], of Schuyler County, be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners to view, mark, and locate a State
road from the City of Quincy thence to the big elm grove, thence to Huntsville, thence to Brooklin in schuyler County
Sec 2. Said Commissioners or a majority of them shall meet at Quincy on the first Monday in May next, or within sixty days thereafter and after being
duly sworn according to law, by some Justice of the peace faithfully to discharge
the duties required of them by this act shall proceede to view, mark, and locate, said road from point to point, as directed in the first
section of this act, upon the nearest and best rout, avoiding as much as possible any injury to improvements and private property on
said rout, and make out a return to the County Commissioners Courts of the Counties through which said road passes, a certified report of said road;
which shall be filed with the Clerks of the County Courts of Adams and Schuyler Counties within one month after said road is located and said road when so located
shall be deemed a state Road and kept in repair as other state roads are
