Resolved, That a stone culvert be made, commencing at the point where the Branch crosses
Charles B. Francis, running thence diagonally across Market Street to the northwest corner of J. F. Amos’ lot; thence diagonally across 6th Street; Provided John T. Stuart, J. F. Amos, Walter Davis, and B. C. Webster, pay to the President and Trustees the sum of three hundred dollars, to be paid in
proportion as the work progresses—provided further, That the said individuals pay one half of all the costs exceeding three hundred
and fifty dollars which shall be required to completed said work.
On application of James Bell and others:
Resolved, That the Board will cause so much of 5th street as lies between the southern side of D. B. Hill’s and the norther side of S. M. Tinsleys store, to be graded and M’Adamized—the aforesaid applicants furnishing the means
to break the rock necessary for the said work.
On motion, Ordered, That the Engineers of the Rail Road running by this town, be requested to cause a ditch to be opened immediately on the western side

of the Depot, so as to carry off by the Rail Road the water which runs down from the north to that point, instead of permitting it
to run, as it now does, through the town, to the great injury of some of its inhabitants.
