Mr. Canedy, President pro tem of the Board, announced the decease of its respected President, C. R. Matheny.
Whereupon it was r
Resolved, That in the death of C. R. Matheny, the Board has lost a faithful and able officer, and the town and an estimable and useful public citizen.
On motion,
Resolved, That P. C. Canedy be President of this Board, vice C. R. Matheny, deceased.
The resignation of L. Higby as Collector of the town, was tendered and accepted.
On motion, Jacob C. Planck was elected Collector of the town of Springfield.
On motion,
Resolved, That Jonas Whitney be elected a Trustee in place of C. R. Matheny deceased.
On motion, John Brewer was appointed Sexton of the town, vice Clark resigned.
Adjourned.
