Birdsall, Ausburn

Birdsall worked as a lawyer and district attorney of Broome County, New York. He won election, as a Democrat, to the U.S. House of Representatives, serving from 1847 to 1849, alongside Abraham Lincoln. After his term in Congress, he was appointed naval storekeeper in the United States Navy. He later returned to Broome County and resumed the practice of law.
