Goodan, David C.

Died: 1864-07-29 Christian County, Illinois

When he was a small child, Goodan moved with his family from Kentucky to Illinois, where they settled in Sangamon County. Goodan was sent back to Kentucky to be educated, and he attended medical school in Louisville. He returned to Illinois and lived and practiced medicine in McDonough, Fulton, and Sangamon counties before moving back to Kentucky. In 1844, he returned to Illinois again, where he settled briefly in Taylorville. He again practiced medicine in Sangamon County for a time, returning to Christian County in 1857. In 1837, Goodan married Catherine Van Ostran.
