Greenleaf, Moses

Moses Greenleaf was a clerk. He lived in Springfield, Illinois at least as early as 1850, along with his wife, Martha, and their daughter, Mary. While in Springfield, he was active in the town's social life. He joined the local horticultural society, and took a leading role in organizing a musical performance at the First Presbyterian Church as well as an annual celebration by the local New England Society. By July 1855, however, he had moved to Naples, Illinois. He lost his wife in August 1855.
