Moore, Enoch

In 1833, Moore married Charlotte Sherman, with whom he had three children, in St. Clair County, Illinois. They settled initially in Alton, Illinois, but soon moved to Vandalia, then the state capital, where Moore was employed as a clerk in the office of the state treasurer. Charlotte died in 1839, and Moore remarried to Matilda Wakefield. The same year, Moore followed the state capital to Springfield, where he was employed in various state offices for the rest of his life.
