Workman, Stephen

Born: 1797 Allegany County, Maryland

Died: 1866-04-30 Christian County, Illinois

In 1809, Workman moved with his parents and siblings--including William, David, and John--to Bourbon County, Kentucky. He married Effie Maddox and in 1827, they moved to Tennessee. Two years later, Stephen joined his brother William and moved his family to Sangamon County, Illinois. Stephen lived in Kentucky from 1831 to 1834, then returned to western Sangamon County to farm near Loami. Between 1850 and 1860, Workman moved to Christian County, Illinois, where he was a farmer.
