Know all Men by these Presents, That we S G. Jones A Lincoln & John C Doremus & James Douglass are held and firmly bound unto the County Commissioners of Sangamon County, in the full sum of Five Hundred ^one thousand^ Dollars, lawful money of the United States, to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves our heirs and executors firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 10th day of August 1843.
THE CONDITION of the above obligation is such, that whereas the above bounden S G Jones– was elected Constable in the Springfield District, on the 7th day of August 1843
NOW if the said S G Jones shall well and truly discharge the duties of said Office, by serving all processes legally to him directed, pay over all monies which may come to his hands by virtue thereof, and do and perform all things appertaining thereunto, then this obligation to be void and of non-effect, otherwise to remain in full force.
