Sec[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of
Illinois represented in the General Assembly; That
Downing Baugh, of Jefferson County, Thomas
Thompson of Franklin County[,] and George
W Lee of of Washington County be and they are

hereby appointed commissioners to view, locate[,]
and mark a state road leading from
Nashville in Washington County to Equality in
Gallatin county.
Sec 2. The said commissioners, or a majority of them shall meet, at Nashville, on the first day of April next, or as soon thereafter as practiable, ^4^ and, after being duly sworn, shall proceed to locate said road on the nearest route, and best ground, on a straight direction as nearly as the nature of the country will admit.
Sec 3. The said commissioners shall, as soon as ^2^ convenient after the survey of said road cause to be filed with the clerks of the county commissioners courts of the counties ^through^ which said road passes a report, and complete map of said road; which report and map shall be preserved, and shall form a part of the records of said court. Said road when so established shall be opened and kept in repair as other state roads are.
Sec 4. The county commissioners of the counties through which said road passes shall allow to said road commissioners such compensation not exceeding two dollars per day as to them shall seem just and reasonable.
