An act for the appropriation of the Vermilion Saline lands, & Moneys arising from the Sales thereof.

Sec[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That all the residue of the unsold lands of theVermilion Saline Reserve up to the passage of this act, together with the money remaining in the hands of the Receiver of Said lands, not otherwise appropriated, be & the Same are hereby appropriated as follows, towit: To the County of Iroquois, three hundred acres of Said unsold land; the proceeds of which to be laid out under the Superintendance of the county Commissioners Court of Said County, to the building of a bridge across the Iroquois river where the State road leading from Vincennes to Chicago crosses said river.2 To the county of Champaign, two hundred acres of Said unsold land; to be expended, or the proceeds thereof, by the County Commissioners court of said County, in building the bridge across the Sangamon river, where the State road, leading from Danville to Bloomington crosses said river.3

Sec. 2 That all the residue of the said unsold land, after the appropriations aforesa[id] together with all the money remaining in the hands of the Receiver of said Saline land, up to the passage of this, or was in his hands on the 22d day of July A.D. 1837, arising from the Sales of Said lands, be and the same are hereby appropriated to the County of Ver-

milion; to be expended to the amount of five hundred dollars in constructing a bridge across the Little Vermilion river, where the State road leading from Vincennes to Chicago crosses said river; and the remainder in constructing a bridge across the north fork of the vermilion river, where said State road crosses said river.4

Sec. 3. That the County Commissioners of said Counties respectively, shall have power to sell & convey their respective shares of said land, for the promotion of the objects named in in this act. Which respective parts, shall, on application of said Commissioners, be set apart by the Receiver of said saline lands

Sec 4. That an act entitled “An act appropriating the residue of the Vermilion Saline lands to the Counties of Iroquois and Vermilion, for the building of bridges across the Iroquois and Vermilion rivers,” Approved 22d July 1837, be & the same is hereby repealed.5

This act to take effect, & be in force from the after its passage.
