The petition of Augustus O Garret ^& others^ of the County of Peoria and State of Illinois
respectfully Sheweth

That your petitioner did on the 23^rd day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Seven, lay out[,] survey and plat the South East quarter of Section N^o Five, in Township N^o Eight North, in Range No Eight East of the 4^th principal meridian; as an addition to the town of Peoria, in the County of Peoria & State of Illinois under the name of “Garret’s addition to town of Peoria” and had the same recorded as the law directs. And whereas your petitioner has not as yet sold nor does he now intend to sell any lot or parts of lots as laid off by him as aforesaid and that ^the^ right & title to all of said lots is in your petitioner solely. Your petitioner therefore respectfully requests your honorable body will pass an act to vacate the Survey & Plat of the Town of Garret’s Addition to the Town of Peoria, in Peoria County aforesaid and your petitioner as in duty bound will ever pray &c[et cetera]
