Sect[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois represented in the General assembly That all and every provision of law requiring or authorizing proceedings against the State Bank of Illinois established by an act of the General assembly of the State of Illinois, entitled “An Act to incorporate the subscribers to the Bank of the State of Illinois” approved Febry[February] 12th 1835, with a view of enforcing a forfeiture of its charter; or discontinuing and closing its business, or requiring said Bank to discontinue and close all or any of its operations of business in consequence of its negle^c^t or refusal to redeem in specie any evidence of debt issued by said corporation, be and the same are hereby suspended and of no force, for, and during, and until the end of the present session of the said General Assembly 1, notwithstanding the said Bank shall have neglected or refused to redeem in specie, any evidence of debt, issued by it for more than sixty days after demand made for the redemption or payment of the same, and such neglect or refusal of said Bank is hereby authorized until the end and close of the present session of said General assembly.
