Crow, William (of Menard Co., IL)

Crow moved to Barren County, Kentucky, when he was very young. He married Miriam Enyart in Cumberland County and relocated to Madison County, Illinois, in 1819, where he became a Baptist preacher. A year later, they moved again to Cartwright, where Miriam died in 1823. In 1824, Crow married Susan Hall. He fought in the Black Hawk War alongside Abraham Lincoln. Sometime thereafter, Crow sold his farm and moved to Cass County. During his career, he preached throughout central Illinois.
