Sec.[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois Represented in the General assembly that Richard Kerr and Eli Hubbard of Pike County and James W. Whitney of Adams County be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners to view, alter and relocate so much
of the State Road between Atlas and Carrollton, as lies between the six mile Creek and the farm of the said Whitney in Pike County, so as to said State Road shall pursue the present mail route through the Town of Fairfield by Pleasant Hill Post Office and past the residence of John McMullin in said County of Pike
Sec. 2. Said Commissioners shall meet at the Town of Fairfield, in Pike County aforesaid at any time between the passage of this act and the twentyeth day of December next and after being duly sworn by some Justice of the Peace to discharge
their duties impartially, shall proceed to relocate and change that part of the road
aforesaid mentioned, and shall blaze the trees in the timber, and drive stakes in
the Prarie, so as the route of said road shall be plain and easy to be followed, and after they
shall have completed their work they shall make a complete return or report of their
doings in writings signed by them to the Clerk of the County Commissioners Court of Pike County, who shall file the same in his office and that part of the old road changed and
altered by this act shall be discontinued

Sec 3. Said Commissioners shall be entitled to a reasonable compensation pr day for
their services to be paid out of the County Treasury of Pike County.
