Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois represented in the Generl Assembly, that Josiah Fulton, John Armstrong and Edward Dickinson, of the County of Peoria, be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners, to view [,] mark [,] and locate a state road, from the state road leading from Peoria to Galena, via, Oseola, commencing at some point on said road on Section N^o thirty three, Town nine North of range eight east, of the fourth principal Meridian, running westwardly to intersect the Peoria and Knnoxville County road, at some point on said road, on section Twenty nine, Town nine North of range eight east, of the fourth principal meridian.

Sec. 2. The said Commissioners or any two of them, shall meet at the Court house in the Town of Peoria, on the first Monday in April next, or some day thereafter, and before entering on their duties assigned them by this act, shall take an oath before some Justice of the Peace, of said County of Peoria faithfully to perform the duties required of them, by this act and shall proceed to view, mark [,] and locate the said road on the nearest and most eligible ground.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted that the County Road leading from Peoria to Knoxville (via) Charlestown in Knox County, be and the same is hereby declaered a State road, from the points where the aforesaid Commissioners shall locate the road herein before provided for to Knoxville, in Knox County, which said road shall be opened and kept in

repair as other State roads are.

Sec. 4. Said Commissioners shall receive for their services a reasonable compensation not exceeding one dollar and fifty cents per day, to be paid out of the County Treasury of said County of Peoria.

Sec. 5. That the County road now leading from Charlestown to Rochester in the County of Peoria, be and the same is hereby declaired a State road, and shall be kept in repair as other State roads. This act to be in force from and after its passage.
