AN ACT supplemental to the several acts, relating to the Circuit Courts in this State.

Terms of courts in 2d circuit.
Names of counties.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the terms of the courts in the second judicial circuit, shall be held at the several places for holding courts in the several counties therein, at the times following, namely: In the county of Madison on the second Monday of February and August; in the county of St. Clair on the third Monday of February and August; in the county of Monroe, on the fourth Monday in February and August; in the county of Randolph, on the Fridays thereafter; in the county of Washington, on the first Fridays of March, and September;2 in the county of Clinton, on the second Mondays of March and September; in the county of Bond on the third Monday of March and September.
Sec. 2. In the county of Montgomery, on the fourth Mondays in March and September; in the county of Shelby, on the first Monday of April, and October; in the county of Effingham on the Fridays thereafter; in the county of Fayette, on the Mondays thereafter.3
Processes thereto.
Sec. 3. All process, suits and recognizances which have been, or may be issued or entered into and made returnable to the courts as at present arranged, shall be taken and considered, to be returnable, to the times fixed by this act, and shall be valid to all intents and purposes.

1Nathaniel Buckmaster from the Committee on the Judiciary introduced the bill in the House of Representatives on January 2, 1836. On January 5, the House referred the bill to a select committee, which reported back the bill without amendment on January 11. The House passed the bill unamended on January 13. The Senate passed the bill unamended on January 15. On January 16, the Council of Revision approved the bill and the act became law.
