Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly, That Hugh Egan of Marion County John Martin of Effingham County, Theron E Balch of Coles County, Be, and they are hereby appointed Commissioners to view, mark, and locate a State
road from Salem in Marion County, via Ewington in Effingham County to Charleston in Coles County. The Said Commissioners or a majority of them, shall meet in the Town of Salem in Marion County, on the first Monday in April next, or within two months thereafter; and after being
duly sworn before some Justice of the peace of said County, shall proceed to view, mark and locate said road on the nearest, and most eligible
route. The said Commissioners shall make a true report of said road with the number
of days they were employed in locating the same in each of the counties that the
said road runs through; under their hands and seals, and file a copy of the same with
the clerks of the County Commissioners Courts of each of said Counties; which road
when laid out as aforesaid shall be a public State Road, and the County Commissioners
of the several Counties through which said road may pass, Shall order and cause the
same to be opened and kept in repair as other State roads are. And Said Commissioners
Shall receive Such compensation for their services not exceeding one dollar and fifty
cents per day; out of the respective County Treasuries, as may be deemed reasonable.

Sec 3 And be it further enacted that Guy Beck of Fayette County, William Freeman of Effingham County, and Cesar Williams of Jaseper County, be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners to view, mark, and locate a State
road from Bowlingreen in Fayette County via Ewington in Effingham County to Newton in Jasper County. The said Commissioners or a majority of them, shall meet in the town of Bowlingreen, in Fayette County, on the first Monday in April next, or within two months thereafter, and after having
been Duly Sworn before some Justice of the Peace of said County; Shall proceed to lay out said road, and shall proceed in all respects; and the same
rules and regulations, shall apply to them as provided in the first and second sections
of this act defining the duties of the Commissioners appointed therein, and their
duties and compensations are hereby made the same. And the said Road when so laid
out Shall be a State road, and shall be opened and kept in repair as other state roads
are. This act to be in force from and after its passage.
