Resolved
By the Senate and house of Representatives of the State of Illinois that our Senators in Congress be and they are herby instructed and our Representatives requested to use their best exertions to procure the passage of a law of Congress granting an appropriation of Land, Scrip, or money, to be applied to the improvement of so much of the road leading from Louisville Ky. Via Vincennes Indiana, to St Louis in Missouri, as is located within this State.

That they use their best exertions to procure the establishment of certain mail routes herein after specified: viz:
From Salem Marion co to Mtvernon in Jefferson co. From Bloomington in McLean co. to Springfield in Sangamon Co From Mt Carmel in Wabash co to Maysville in Clay co. From Pitsfied in Pike co to to Rushville in Schuyler county

Frazier’s report
Louisville & St Louis roads.
1On December 12, 1834, Elijah S. Frazer in the House of Representatives proposed adoption of a resolution calling for the creation of a select committee to draft a memorial to Congress requesting an appropriation for the improvement of roads and the establishment of mail routes. The House adopted the resolution and appointed a three-person select committee. Frazer from the aforementioned select committee introduced the resolutions in the House on December 24. The House adopted the preamble and resolutions without amendment. On December 26, the Senate referred the resolutions to a select committee. The select committee reported back the resolutions on December 30 without amendment, and the Senate adopted them.
